Healthy snack ideas for kids

Snack time is often children's favorite moment… and sometimes a headache for parents. Between chocolate bars stuffed with additives and store-bought cookies that vanish in two seconds, we're all looking for the same thing: something tasty, wholesome, and genuinely appealing. So we rolled up our sleeves and put together four healthy snack recipes — simple to make and approved by little foodies.

Homemade snacks are always better

You don't need to be a Michelin-starred chef to make great snacks at home. These recipes are quick, accessible, and above all utterly delicious. The idea? Simple, natural ingredients, no hidden sugars or artificial flavors. Because a good snack truly nourishes and does as much good for the body as for the mind.

Healthy recipes that are going to be a hit

Banana pancakes

Ingredients (for 12 pancakes)
• 200 g rolled oats • 4 bananas • 1 tsp baking soda • 1 packet vanilla sugar • 1 tsp cinnamon • 375 ml almond milk • Agave syrup • Coconut flakes

Method
Blend the rolled oats, vanilla sugar, baking soda and cinnamon into flour. Mash 2 bananas with the almond milk, add the oat flour and mix. Cook the pancakes in an oiled pan over low heat. Caramelize the remaining 2 bananas sliced into rounds with agave syrup and serve with coconut flakes.

These oat pancakes provide complex carbohydrates for lasting energy, magnesium from the banana, and fiber for good digestion. A snack that really keeps you going!

Raw blueberry tartlets

Ingredients (for 4 tartlets)
• 100 g fresh pitted dates • 30 g hazelnuts • 50 g cashews • 70 g mascarpone • 1 tbsp lemon juice • A few mint leaves • Blueberries

Method
Blend the dates, hazelnuts and cashews into a paste. Press this paste into tartlet molds to form the base. Unmold carefully and refrigerate for 15 minutes. In a bowl, mix the mascarpone with the lemon juice and finely chopped mint. Fill the tartlet bases with this mixture, then top with blueberries.

Zero baking, 100% indulgent! The nut blend provides essential lipids, omega fatty acids, important for children's brain development. And the blueberries? They're packed with antioxidants, essential for the brain and for protecting cells. A tartlet that's truly good for you.

Chocolate cake

Ingredients (for 1 cake)
• 200 g dark chocolate • 5 eggs • 200 g butter • 175 g sugar • 40 g flour

Method
Preheat the oven to 160 °C (fan). Melt the butter and chocolate over low heat. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whip the egg whites to stiff peaks and set aside. Whisk the yolks with the sugar until you get a fluffy mixture. Add the flour, then the chocolate-butter mixture. Gently fold in the egg whites. Pour into a 24 cm pan and bake for 25 minutes.

Because a healthy snack doesn't have to be a snack without pleasure. Every now and then, we treat ourselves to a proper chocolate cake and make it at home, with good ingredients. Simple as that.

Coconut macaroons

Ingredients (for 12 coconut macaroons)
• 3 egg whites • 120 g cane sugar • 180 g desiccated coconut

Method
Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Mix the egg whites, sugar and coconut. Shape into small balls and place on a baking tray. Bake for 20 minutes, until golden on the outside and soft on the inside.

Three ingredients, no more. Nothing artificial, no additives, no preservatives — that's what we love. Egg whites provide protein, coconut gives a great feeling of satiety, and unrefined cane sugar is used in far more reasonable quantities than in any store-bought cookie. Homemade snacking in all its simplicity.

For the little foodies

A sleeved bib

We often underestimate it, and yet… the sleeved bib is a real ally at snack time. Easy to slip on, roomy and practical, it lets little ones enjoy their food freely without you worrying about their clothes. Less stress for you, more independence for them. Everyone wins! And for older kids, we also have personalizable napkins that do exactly the same job, but for the bigger foodies!

A snack box

Because great recipes deserve a beautiful container! The Petit Picotin snack box is perfect for transporting these little treats without damaging them, whether it's the coconut macaroons, the tartlets or the morning pancakes. Practical, sturdy and personalizable with your child's name, it quickly becomes their favorite accessory for school.

As soon as they step into the kitchen, children love feeling entrusted with a real mission. Mixing, mashing bananas, shaping coconut macaroons… they take their role very seriously. With a well-fitted apron , they can join in freely and build their confidence. Doing things "like the grown-ups" is often what motivates them most, and these recipes are perfect for cooking together!
