A school trip to the park, the farm or the forest? The magic word for kids is: picnic! For them, it's the most anticipated moment of the year, but for parents, it's a big organizational challenge: between transportable meals, backpacks and unpredictable weather, you have to think of everything !

But don't panic — we're sharing our tips for a picnic as enjoyable as the school trip itself.

picnic ideas for a nursery school trip

A nursery school picnic is like a mini feast, kids' style: easy to eat, easy to open on your own, and nothing ends up in crumbs at the bottom of the bag.

Here's our winning combo, tested and approved by our little ones:

• A small sandwich or wrap: sliced bread, small rolls or a rolled wrap with simple fillings like raw vegetables, ham and cream cheese will do the trick

• A few crunchy veggies: Carrot sticks, radishes or cherry tomatoes… they're crunchy, refreshing and better than chips!

• A drinkable dessert: Whether it's a drinkable yogurt or a squeezable fruit purée, the goal is to not need any cutlery!

• A little treat: a slice of homemade cake, or individual madeleines for a sweet little craving. We avoid chocolate — it melts and our little ones get it all over their fingers… And to slip everything into the bag without any fuss: discover our lovely snack box!

• Water, plain and simple. No need for sugary drinks or juice — water is the best ally!

the Petit Picotin touch for the perfect picnic

To keep water cold, we recommend using an insulated water bottle — and as luck would have it, our personalizable Glouglou water bottle is exactly that. It keeps any liquid poured inside at temperature for six hours. And it's eco-friendly too — #zero waste!

a zero-waste picnic

To transport the picnic without crushing anything along the way, we rely on our Miam snack box. It's not too big and not too small, and with its soft silicone lid, it's easy and intuitive to use. And since it's lovely, reusable and personalizable, we say yes to a #zero waste picnic, with style!

small bag, big adventure: the essentials for little ones

Picnics are great, but you also need to think about:

• a cap or sun hat to stay cool

• tissues or wipes (always useful)

• a raincoat, in case a shower rolls in

• the picnic, of course

• leaving room for the morning sweater

our Petit Picotin bags: beautiful, practical and personalized

The bag you choose needs to be big enough to fit the picnic and all the little things, but still adapted to the size of our little ones. Paco or Roméo — our backpacks are ideal. They're small but sturdy, come in a wide choice of colors and are personalizable!

picnic mission accomplished: everything's in the bag!

With the right advice, the right products, good organization and a touch of personalization, the school trip becomes a great memory for our little ones!

And on top of that, if the bag is well packed, the teachers will thank you!
